Polar Bear coolers will keep ice frozen for 24 hours in 30 degrees C.
www.polarbearcoolers.com it sure beats trying to carry a small fridge on the bike

Why not fabricate your own fridge/cooler. Some high density foam (like that used to package flat screen TVs), some glue, a small Peltier cooler and your done. Stuff it into the bike's luggage, wire it to the power outlet....cold beer or cold medication.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thermoelectr...787#vi-content In answer to your question, yes, the GS can supply adequate power for a small electric cooler. Good luck. def screwed with this post 10-01-2012 at 08:13 PM |

The beauty of a fridge is not having to replace the ice within 24-36 hrs though. Edit - The Polar Bear was cheaper on Amazon and only $11.73 shipping! AUSSIEADV screwed with this post 10-01-2012 at 08:38 PM |

Can you keep it in a thermos with ice.
![]() Medicool Insulin Protector Black I saw an episode of Dr. G the medical examiner where a lady had to ride a bus for 8+ hours and her insulin got warm. She got home, her sister gave her her insulin she was sick all night then she died the next morning. They found the insulin was spoiled/ineffective because it got hot. ![]() http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/med...012324-product

Years ago, AGV sold a Peltier cooled helmet for motorcycling. The heat sink was part of the crown of the helmet.

Older GS has a 600W output, all the GSA's have 720W.
While that's a massive amount, often twice your typical bike output, you do need to factor in what's drawing power. ESA, ABS, etc all draw down if they're equipped. Add the fridge and any other accessories you have into that mix. I'm easily adding at least 100W of extra draw to a full spec 1200GSA bike (ASC, ABS, ESA etc), and having no issues.

He's indicated that he will be tripping for some time so he will need something constant/reliable. I've got an old cooler with a similar unit Def has mentioned that's probably worth investigating - nope, doesn't work. Since looking on the Waeco site, the 8 litre thermo cooler only draws 32W but only cools to up to 20 deg below ambient. AUSSIEADV screwed with this post 10-01-2012 at 11:57 PM |

As you consider your options, I found out that the GSA can carry a wine fridge:
