07 GSA 99k for $10k or 08 GSA 16k for $14k?

Bike 1: 2007 GSA single experienced owner with 99k miles, "perfectly maintained" by a single BMW master mechanic, new clutch (not needed, but replaced anyway) at 47k, new Ohlins, new tires, a bit "sunbleached" from SoCal, mechanic says, "I wouldn't hesitate", at $10k a 1h drive away from me.

Bike 2: 2008 GSA with 16k, second owner, ASC, ESC, TPM, custom shifter, couple other doo-dads, needs new tires soon, will need 18k service soon, aftermarket warranty till September, will require $220 fly and drive, $400 tires, and $500 service soon, pushing a $13k base price more towards $14k.

Owner of Bike 1 just took me on an awesome 1h drive in the mountains, and he's a great guy.

Any input from the experts?

Buy the newer bike. Why replace the clutch when you don't have too? Sounds weird.

Only the '08 will have the low first gear, if that matters to you, although the difference is very slight. '08 brought a bit more power as well as the Enduro ESA suspension.

I don't think one is a drastically better deal than the other. They're different bikes; the '08 is better in some ways and the price reflects that.

Thanks for the input. New Ohlins on the 07 vs stick ESA on the 08 is a consideration. Clutch replacement was apparently just an opportunity to get it done just before the warranty expired.

Get the 07 for 9500 and enjoy.
the 08 seems too expensive and with that little miles, maintenance may have been overlooked. You also didn't mention if its an in-state or out-of-state bike. You have to add the DMV hassle to the cost.
