The 38s are essentially the same size as the 32 Bings.
34s. Vurrry loose in the intake boot so I had to clamp down pretty far. Definitely potential for a leak.

I'm running 32s and my bing hoses do just fine, no leaks. Of course, they are brand new, if that matters?

According to the carb cleaner AND propane test, I'm leak proof everywhere.
Hmmm. Sure wish these Mikunis had a place for me to hook up my balancer.

I would put a vacuum take off on them before I installed them. I did on my Dellorto's. Dellorto's have a very handy unused mixture screw boss to turn into a VTO. Maybe those Mikuni's have something similar? Bing and Dellorto make VTO kits.

Me too, on the vacuum pick ups. I'm going to figure something out tho.
Both carbs are the same and there is a lot of acreage on the left side that could accommodate a vacuum port. That will make it easy access on the left but a bit of a pain on the right. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Well, now my results will be useless for anybody. I am now using R100 pistons and cylinders on r90 heads, with vm32s.

This is a pretty unlikely setup.

Well, I'll let you know today. So far fantastic but that's less than a mile of testing.

I'm not having much luck in the tuning department. Still bellowing black smoke out of both sides, despite being 4 turns out now on the mixture screw. Then there's the weird habit where it will start up and idle just fine but if I go for a 2 minute ride, it won't idle anymore...just dies.
Then there's both sides being completely out of sync. No amount of cable adjustment seems to be aiding.
hmmmm

That sounds like the pilot jet is too large, black smoke and dull exhaust note.

I would think you should be a lot closer to 1 to 1 1/2 turns out on the mixture screw. The reason it dies after a short ride is the carbs are too rich.
The cables do need to be set to keep the carbs synced at least till the rpm has come up a bit, However, the carbs should be synced by turning the slide adjustment screws. these are fine adjust, and allow for easy sync.
Sorry if I'm talking basics you already know. But, it sounds like your still a ways off.

I figured as much. I found out that I'm running a 35 pilot...which some of you r100 folks are running. I'm seeing the trend that the r75 folks and r80 folks are running a 30. Luckily, Jenna loaned me some jets and there's a 30 pilot in there to try out <3
