[QUOTE=crashmaster;19825015]I dont think you can go wrong with either bike amigo. You'll probably live longer riding the 250 though.
Hey Crash, Just got down here to Casa Throttlemeister in Okie from Muskogee land and checked paypal and saw what you did. Just want to say you are my new BFF. I already signed your name on my gas tank but am going out now to outline it in red permanent marker. Muchas gracias, Juan

I imagine you are running around doing last minute stuff like I was a couple days ago before I left. Once you're on the road life is beautiful. I'm sure our paths will cross. Look forward to meeting you. Have fun! John Downs

Arrived at Casa Throttlemeister in NE Oklahoma yesterday just as the sun was setting. Here is tippy the greeting committee:
![]() Oklahoma is better than OK. It's great. The south winds were blowing all afternoon through Kansas bringing warm weather as the temps on small town banks I passed by were reading high 70's low 80's. Nice. Had a fun time last night heading over to Tulsa with Throttlemeister to hang with some NE Oklahoma moto dudes that get together every Tuesday night. This week it was pizza and PBR at an appropriately named Jo Momma Pizza.I couldn't get them all in one picture, but seated from left around the table were Rick (dirt 2007), Jason (dirty dog), Bob slightly obscured, Burt with the mustache, Tomski and Brian (Newner): ![]() and continuing on the other end next to Newner are Ralph in the white, Tim in black and John (throttlemeister): ![]() They are a fun bunch of guys. They are having a fall moto bash in a couple days called Zombie fest. I hear there is racing and mud involved. I don't think I can miss out on something that involves motorcycles, mud and camping on a ranch somewhere in NE Oklahoma. So I think I'll get some route ideas from Throttlemeister and head over to the Ozarks just across the state line over in Arkansas and southern Missouri for a couple days backcountry trail riding and come back for Zombie fest. I have to go down the street and get a micro SD card for this new GPS so TM can load up some Ozark maps on this thing. Best, John Downs

stayed up past my bed time last night catching up on this one. I learned to ride on a Super Sherpa and totally love your bike. Good luck and if you come back through North Carolina my doors (and beer cooler) are always open.

Another nice day in Oklahoma. Went over to visit Throttlemeister's friend to see about getting some parts that I didn't have time to pick up since I left early. Eldon has an old school motorcycle shop:
![]() He dug around and found an RK X-ring chain, spare clutch cable, brake shoes and a couple extra oil filters. Everything I needed really. Pretty amazing what he has stacked in the back. Stuff that would be hard to find and expensive to buy south of the border. So I rode back to TM's shop/mancave and put on a new chain, brakes, sprockets so I don't have to carry extra weight and bulk around. Should be good to go for the next 20K miles. The old sprockets weren't very worn at 15K miles and the brake pads were only half gone. Will take the old front sprocket and leave the rest. I am trying to eliminate excess stuff as I get my minimalist groove on. Bought a needle and thread for 1.50 to sew up the hole in my riding pants pocket and I will leave it. Anything I can buy on the road I don't need to carry. Throttlemeisters friend came over and helped him get his Honda 4 wheeler and XR in shape for Zombiefest this weekend: ![]() The day went by and it was time to go feed the cattle out at the farm: ![]() By the time we came home it was dark and time to load up GPS maps of the TAT and Ozarks for tomorrow's riding. More later…… Best, John Downs
