My camera died last week. Tomski emailed this pic of the Tulsa Tuesday pub crawl from a couple days ago:

seated left to right are FatBob, _cy_, DirtyDog, Okietrailboss, Krabill, myself, FrontierCat sipping a beer, and JumpJet.

Tomski also pointed me to his favorite pawn shop called Urban Pawn where I got 2 cameras for South America. Two for 50 bucks, so now I can take pictures again. The Cannon Powershot SX130 shoots HD video, so I'll be able to take videos next year in South America as well.

Best,
Okie John

Several people have been wondering what I've been up to down here in Oklahoma. I am doing some remodeling on this little brick garage at Throttlemeister's brother's house making a small apartment for his disabled brother-in-law:

Before:

and nearing completion:

I originally thought I was just doing this custom tile shower:

but one thing led to another and I ended up doing more than I expected.

Better get back to work.

Yup. Time to bust my tile shower out with a claw hammer and start over.

When you return from South America next year I might have to hit you up for some work at my pad. The Mrs has some ideas and projects that are well beyond my level of carpentry skills.

Hi Paratrout,

You're on the list after NE Texas for the summer 2014 ADV Sherpa gypsy contractor tour. Just send me the GPS co-ordinates to Cackilackistan and I'll head over and buff out your house while you catch up on your fly fishing.

Cheers,
John of all Trades

I am finding that chicks dig ADVriders here in Tulsa:

Here I am in Tomski's backyard with the girl next door:

A dozen ADVriders showed up for a barbeque last night at the North Tulsa Oasis aka Tomskis backyard:

Baby back ribs, shishkebobs, potato salad, baked beans, along with yummy deserts. Mmmm mmmm good. Plus nice company on a mild summer night.

Tulsa is OK.

J Downs and associates...
Thanks for the pics of the BBQ and the Pub Crawl. Now I can relate a face to more of the names that post on this and the Oklahoma threads.

I want to mention two events coming this next weekend. First, Dadayama is organizing a ride for the eastern section of the "Oklahoma Adventure Trail". More info here.. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...6#post21594806

Also a State Rally for the "Southern Cruziers". More info here.. http://www.scrcthreerivers.com/scrc_state_rally.html

-Thanks and Happy Fathers Day everyone...

Went by the shamrock last Night and has a couple of Club Colombias. Al wasn't around but I didn't mind as there were plenty of beautiful girls around. There were a few gringos around, some of them hanging out with the locals behing the bamboo patch . When I smelled the smoke I turned around realizaing it wasn't incense what they were burning

You did a good job with the paint there. No overland bikes parked around. Beautiful weather in here, about 10 days with no rain. Dad says hi and the guys at the parking lot asked for you.

Hi John,

Glad to see you are enjoying a relaxing summer. Get rested for next season of minimalist Sherpa in South America. And I need to learn from you how life should be lived, I am betting those are the real chicks that taste good, unlike supermarket chicken.

Cheers!
Vic

Is this corner of the structure failing? It looks like the wall is pulling away...
