Damn,im gonna miss the Forrest Rally this year along with Warren Strange and Glenn Brown (quads) . Gonna be riding the Baja Peninsula in Mexico for 11 days .
Timing was a bit off.Loved the Forrest Rally last year ,and didn't think of the clash of dates before booking Mexico.

Okay, so I've committed to another year as Clerk of Course for the 2013 Quit Forest Rally-Moto. I'll don the helmet another year!

After last years event I proposed something a little different for the Super Special Stage activities for the Friday night on the foreshore of Busselton. The idea was to bring something a little different and exciting for the Moto's, Quad's and SxS's to make things a little more "interesting" in front of all the spectators. It looks like we're managing to put something together that should get the crowd even more excited than previous years but especially give the Moto's, Quad's and SxS's a real reason to front up and do more than circulate. Watch this space for more news as we develop the plan.

It's going to be good!

I used to do a bit of C of C back a few years when my boy was racing Motocross, did a bit of marshalling and so on, was an official at Aussie junior titles in 88 in Manji but haven't done any since. I'll have a chat with you at some time John, be good to see you on the bars instead of hanging around like a stale bottle of beer.

JayBo, can you confirm that the Busselton thing is only for Friday night.
If we had to go back there on Saturday night, that would seriously interfere with our beer drinking activities.

I haven't had a look at the draft Supp Reg's yet but I'm 99% sure the "special" SSS will be for Friday night only. I think part of the beauty of the Moto's at the QFR is the fact we stay in Nannup and support the community on the Saturday night. The cars have to bugger off back to Busso because of the major sponsors. No such troubles for us yet.

It didn't take much to talk you into that.
We might not be the fastest but I'm sure we will have as much fun as anyone else.
Good on ya.

I'm in. I'll have a ride. Just need to rummage around in the back of the kitchen cupboards and find an old lunchbox to make a map holder and I'll be ready.

I went to a meeting last night to discuss and final approve the Supp Reg's for the QFR Rally-Moto. They will be submitted to Motorcycling WA today so should hit the streets any day, if not today. Some highlights:
- There will be two Super Special Stages in Busselton on the Friday night (5'th April). Each consisting of three laps of a very short dirt course. These will be timed and form part of overall result, effectively being Stages 1 & 2 of Leg 1.
- The Quads and bikes will be run separately for the two SSS.
- The Classes are: E1 (0 - 250cc), E2 (251 - 500cc), E3 (501 - open) and Quads (Open)

The only catch at the moment is I need some volunteers to man a remote "Splash and Dash" point. If anyone fancies a weekend away (April 5'th to 7'th) and can bring a vehicle capable of towing a trailer, or a ute, and look after the riders looking for fuel to get through the day, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

I'll post up more information or links to the event website later and as they come to hand.
Ciao
JayBo

Rally and big chooks?

Jaybo1,
Good job on being the clerk, have done a few myself and always miss the riding.
Couple of quick questions-
1 - whats the go with using bigger bikes? will I be the only competitor on a bigger dualsport (tenere). Did see a pic of a big Gs.
2. Have ridden a few enduros but never a rally with nav. How full on/difficult is the nav component?

Cheers for the help
