I think she's finished. Probably taking another ride.

Like an unfinished painting. Beautiful in it's own way and satisfying in an unsettled way. I'm glad she wrote it.

I wonder what happen to the love story myself.

Maybe they got married and have a few kids, house, dog, whatever.

Off riding a matching set of goldwings or BMW's with the dog and kids in a side car someplace.

Or she went to Hollywood and they are making a movie, one with no ending.

Wow, very impressive! I'm certain I don't have what it takes to make a ride like that.

All those are possible. This ride ended 2 years ago and she is still a long way from home in the RR.

Wow...have I been sitting on the edge of my chair waiting for the outcome that long??? I've got to find another way to amuse myself.

Would like to get the conclusion for sure. Maybe the conclusion is still concluding or something.

well, sometimes life just gets in the way! Anna did her trip back in the summer of 2012, which was probably the summer before her senior year in college. Remember, she had an internship in San Fran to get to after coming down from Alaska. She said that until she got to Vancouver she was keeping a journal, which she could turn into report chapters fairly easily. In one of her posts after that she mentioned this and that it was hard to reconstruct events from memory alone. (Sure is!) I expect that she had to set the report aside and concentrate on finishing college and maybe starting to figure out what life after college was going to look like, all of which could get in the way of telling more of her story. I remain hopeful that further updates will follow; that she'll lead us out of Oakland across America and home. Would be great to see a photo of her rolling into her driveway again. But I won't be surprised if the report ends before that. Seems like most riders find that as they get within a few days of home the urge to just "get there" becomes overwhelming, and a bunch of reports get pretty condensed at the end as the route switches to interstates and the riders start getting their heads ready to step back into the "real world."

But..... she said that she was planning on Central/South America for her next trip. She said it would take place "next year" and she said that almost exactly a year ago! So maybe she's on the road again? She promised a report on that ride....so hope springs eternal!

I hope she's ok.. It would be nice to know. Does anyone (here) know her?
I've always thought it was so long between posts because she was trying so hard to get it just right, and there was so much emotion involved. Maybe she's just moved on.

That elderly couple in Alaska that put her up are about the only folks that knew her at all. I think the wife or the husband posted a couple times. You could go back to those posts and send them a PM....maybe they know something about it.

She was writing this thing from a journal that she kept. I'm thinking she just moved on with life and this got put on the back burner.

I did a long trip with a ride report years ago. As someone mention, toward the end I switch to interstate, jammed it home with a final condensed report couple weeks after arriving home. Almost didn't bother to put up the final report except for my sister who had been reading told me people were sending her e mails asking what the frock happen to me. So I went in and finished the ride for those who needed closure. LOL.

Almost forgot to mention. The reason I got into such a rush to get home was my little dog. My mom put her on the phone and she started crying when she heard my voice. The next day turn into over a 900 mile day to get home to my little girl "Scooter". That dog still cracks me up till today. I put her into a tank bag and give her rides around the block. She barks at the tachometer, got some type of fascination with it.
