Pikes Peak Hillclimb 2013
After missing the 2012 edition due to the wildfires in Colo. Springs, I'm planning on attending next year.
A couple questions to help steepen my learning curve, please.... 1. Where are the best viewing spots? What's the best way to get there? 2. What days are best? Often events like this are best for spectators on the practice/qually days. 3.Once you're up on the mountain, are you stuck there until racing concludes? I presume this is the case... 4. Can I bring a cooler? 5. Is there anything else you wished you knew before your first visit? Thanx! |

Getting there -- you have to take the PP road just west of Manitou Springs. The race course is closed early in the morning of race day, so if you go up past the start point, you will be where you want to be, for the entire day. Bring a cooler and plenty of water.
