New to airheads, couple of r75/7 questions.

I picked up a fairly clean r75/7 primarily for my wife, but I think I may have been bitten by the bug...

I can't find info on an alternative for the very short shift lever. Any longer aftermarkets available?

Mine has an r90s fairing with a tall Parabellum. I'd like to replace with a stocker or trade if anyone is interested. I've only been able to find Zero Gravity as a replacement. They look different than the stock shape.

I'll be doing more research before I ask any more dumb questions, but the screen and shifter need immediate attention.

Too short a shift lever does not come up often. The OEM unit fits most people's foot. Don't know of any other size levers being made at all. But the solution that has been used when this does come up is to modify the stock unit. Remove and have a welder weld a piece of steel rod onto the center of the lever. Dressing on a grinder will be needed. If the looks of the modification are of importance a short squirt of silverish paint from a rattle can might be enough cosmetic repair or the thing can be sent to a shop for chroming.

I believe Disston is correct about the shifter. The only after market ones I have ever seen were rear sets, and that was some time ago. Somebody may still make them, but I really don't know.

As to the screen on your "S" fairing, Clearview makes both a stock one as well as a taller one. I have used several windshields from them and been very satisfied.

I have a shift lever extension that turns it into a heel/toe.

I'm not really into it. Maybe you want it?
