That looks like so much fun. You must be grinning ear to ear thru the whole ride. Keep it up and enjoy yourself.

Ahhh, to be young again. You are so lucky.

Ya'll might not know this but Jenna's about 5 foot 4. Can't believe she's riding like that when she has no chance of putting a foot down. Gaston would be proud.

She also just jetted some Mikuni flat slides for that airhead without any guidelines which is pretty freakin' impressive.

Best thing about this thread: we get more videos

There are miles of trails out at Sand Rock if you want to take a climbing/riding/camping trip, Jenna. I've been hauling a 60 pound bin of firewood out there for the last few weeks. Good times!

I sure did!! Where you there??? Sounded like Brittany's voice was giving out.

@ Bgood.....thanks for the props man! You certainly were a big part of me having the balls to dive into mechanical shit.

I will update the original post with where the bike began, and what I've done to it. It's about time I contribute some of my idiocy here.

Planning on being there, haven't decided what to ride however.

Rear brake mod.....

I had to do something about my rear brake rod.....

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

I'd heard good and bad things about making the cam assymetrical and flipping the brake lever. From StephenB, and Onelessharley. It made me uneasy to grind the cam and get it wrong. Looking at the rear brake arm, I realized that if that slams into a rock, it's likely the whole FD would, so whats the point other than protecting the rod???

So time for a cable mod.....

The business end of this Honda cable I had kicking around looked to be very similar to my airhead. In fact, same thread and length of thread. Well, if that isn't a "go ahead" from the moto gods, I don't know what is??

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

So I basically measured 4 times, and cut once......then the metal sheath.

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

It cost me under 10 bucks for hardware, including these cable adjusting ferrules.

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

And the finished product.....

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

No interference from the cable ferrules.

Haven't ridden it yet to test the tension, I may have to use a shorter spring. But just rolling up and down the driveway it feels stock but a bit less pressure needed to engage. Just something else to get used to.
