R50/2 Ignition switch
My bike's switch is stuffed.
Headlight and ignition stays on. The ignition switch unit inside the headlamp appears to have been roughly repaired some time in the past and is in a sorry state. Are these easy to fix, or where can I get hold of a replacement unit ? My usual sources of parts do not even list such an item. |

The switch itself is pretty simple, getting it out of the headlight shell can be tedious. You have to bend back 4 small tabs and the switch assembly will come out. The tabs are stiff and the switch plate is fragile, so be careful. Once out it is a simple circuit to diagnose. The key pushes a contact down, and a wiper goes side to side for the lights.
Mine was labeled (terminal #'s) just like the manual. |
