After riding a section of the Baja course out of catavena in March I decided the 690 was not the bike for me on this type of ride so I bought a new in the box '08 450 EXC. ( the price was too good not to pass on the carb model). The only tracking issue was easily solved by setting up the suspension correctly to handle off road race speeds instead of a more motocross type suspension setup that comes with the bike out of the box. Now I have both. Now, can someone just ride my other bike until I decide the trail is best for the 690 ..or the 450? Decisions, decisions, decisions. Next Rally set up on that one too, but now 100 pounds lighter.
I just did 300 miles in Baja last month on my 690 and left my Husaberg at Home. The 690 with the EVO2 tanks is SO NICE !!!!!!
I like it better with the Front tanks full !!!
Tracks graet Pulls Great and at 40 MPG with 5.9 gl of fuel.
I can ride and ride and Ride!!

Upgrading from Adventure to Rally fairing kit

Hi John,

I have a EVO2 tank kit and a EVO1 adventure fairing kit. I purchased the EVO1 tank and adventure kit back in March of 2011. So my adventure kit has the tubular design. I want to upgrade to a rally kit consisting of a nav tower, fuse box, roadbook mount to hold a f2r roadbook, single ico along with the stock speedometer and a bracket to hold a garmin gps 60CSx. I know most of these are available for purchase through your website except the nav tower and the fusebox. However since my kit has the tubular design I am not sure whether these would fit ? What do I need to do to upgrade to this kit and is there away to upgrade it in the first place ? I have sent a PM to you and also contacted you through your website.

Second question I had was on how to mount the magnet and the sensor for the ICO. I have upgraded to sxf forks and I am using your bracket thats mounts on the top of the fork pinch bolts. So where am I supposed to mount the sensor and the magnet for ICO ? and what parts do I need for this conversion ?

Can you please send a PM with the parts and price information to complete this upgrade ?

Thanks,
Hari...

Can you give us a more detailed review of the kit?

How's the wind protection?
Does it crash well?
Any vibes/wobbles?
Etc...?

Thanks, Dan

I just finished 1300 miles in New Mexico with my Evo 2 setup...
Wind protection is good...a little buffeting up around the helmet at highway speeds.
Lost one screw on the press-in fitting for the small black trim panels.
Headlight wouldn't adjust high enough because the top of the shell hits the nut inserts on the tower plate...
No crashes, so I can't comment on that issue...
Handling seems un-changed except for soft sand with full fuel load...the extra weight on the front end makes it wallow a lot more at slow speeds.
Overall, I'm pleased with mine.

We noticed that the Remus & Akro headers both run too close to our new EVO2 left tank underside for our liking,so we are modifying them to give more clearance to prevent heat from the header causing possible problems.Thses new style tanks will be available in about 3 weeks.
We will be contacting all of our EVO2 customers that already have the original design, and offering them the later design left tank, with more clearance,as a free upgrade,in case they want to use aftermarket headers.
Then all EVO2 tank kits will be suitable for all header types.
It was something we had not allowed for in our original EVO2 tank design, but we are always willing to accomodate customers request if possible.

2013 models

We have noticed the only difference to 2013 model KTM 690 Enduro is the change in clutch master cylinder and lever,we are building an EVO2 version this week,so any other changes may become apparent then

I temporarily removed my Evo 2 tanks as I have a trackday coming up. I disconnected the fuel line at the quick connector and thought it was designed to close. But fuel was weeping out so had to reconnect the fuel line and run it all the way up towards the steering head to prevent a fuel leak. Is my connector faulty?

Did the fuel level markers got lost in the process?

They are more subtle than the Rallye Graphics, and fit well with the styling of the older & new KTM 690's.
Thanks to Jim,Karon & the boys at Zero-Nine Graphics for the slick design.
