Super nice pics hobbes.

I have just received my RR Evo2 tanks in three weeks, NOT 3-6 months!
Now thats a good time line.

Additional to the RR kit I had a Seat Concepts seat plus the Air Hawk (a god send!), Enduristan tankbag and roll bag (fantastic customer support from Christoph!).
Overall I am really pleased with the EVO2 kit, and now i just need to add some color with some nice graphics!

Here few pictures from the trip!

Great Pic!

Finally put the upgraded bike through a good test off road (my version, which is some good 2 track). The EVO2 tanks are not even noticeable on the stuff I rode today. With the improved manners on the highway it looks like my V-Strom's days are numbered.

FYI: If you are running the EVO-2 tanks make sure you take a close look at the spot where the tanks meet the seat support tabs. Mine had a sharp edge, particularly on the right side that after a few hundred miles was wearing a hole in my tanks. I just took a file and rounded off the sharp edge.

Here is the spot to look at:

EVO 2 Lights

I'm having to commute for a couple of weeks on the Evo 2 while I'm waiting for my F800GS to arrive. I work shifts, so I'm travelling in the dark once a day.

I found that there is a bit of an issue with the light set-up. In order to aim the low beam high enough, it fouls on the riv-nuts hoding the upper structure together. If you move the light unit forward, it goes high enough but the front mask won't fit.

I cut off all the riv-nuts and used button head allen screws from the bottom with nuts on top. Doesn't look as clean, but the low beam works fine now.

Next, the high beam doesn't adjust low enough with the adjuster screw. Just where it aim OK, the adjuster mechanism goes slack. So I cut an o-ring and stuffed it between the lense and the unit's rim. After a couple of days' worth of testing, I applied some epoxy over the o-ring to fix it in place.

Leaking tank

I discovered a leak in my left tank. Luckily I discovered it in my garage before riding. It looked damp just below the lowest mounting point. Took the tank off to check the fuel line as there was no apparent leak from the tank. Line was in tact.

I then left the tank in the sun for about 15 minutes. Then this happened:

A crack has developed. Almost impossible to see. I will contact Rally Raid tomorrow. The bike has not been crashed or tipped over so probably caused from vibrations

Re: Leaking Evo tank. I had a leak in an Evo1 tank and Rally Raid sent me a new one. The only thing they asked was to destroy the old one and send a picture. So I sawed it in half!
