Throttle Body Sync

I am looking for some wisdom.I have a'05 12GS with 52k .I was syncing the TB with my home made manometer. At 3500 rpm they are even,at idle they are 5 in. apart. My thought is most of the time it will be closer to 3500 rpm than idle.
Should I leave it try to get them a little closer? Thanks in advance..................Jerry

What are you using as fluid? I use ATF in a 1/4" ID tube and have never had it that far off. Only used it on my carbureted R100 so far, haven't got the miles on the GS yet.

Usually they are off at idle. The motors are supposed to take care of that. The only sync you need to be concerned about is around 3k or maybe 4k, or 3.5k is good also.

First time?

You do know that idle and off-idle (higher rpm's) are adjusted separately? Why would you leave Your idle that far off? Are the steppers functioning?

The stepper motors control the idle sync, this is not owner adjustable. YOu can calibrate the idle stepper motors with a GS-911, but it is rarely needed. You will always find the idle sync off on the R1200.

As for off idle sync, do it like this: http://www.jimvonbaden.com/R1200_TB_Sync.html
