Shock Pre-Load Adjuster Oil

Looking for the amount and type of oil that can be used for '07 990A

The preload adjuster is mechanical....

the shock body has oil in it, that has to be bled and refilled on a proper suspension rig to get all the air bubbles out. Good KTM dealers and WP agents have the rig.

I thought its only the SE which has the mechanical pre-load adjuster screw and the adjuster (with the turn - handle) on the Adv are hydraulic ?

The pre load adjuster mechanism does (or did on mine) have oil in it.

Really? Why the hell do they make it so complicated? I am please I did not try removing the movable part to clean under it!

We use shock oil. Ohlins 1309-01 in our case.
The amount is more difficult to say as the process of bleeding the air out is complicated. Sufficient oil to move the spring seat through the full range. Less than 400cc is easily enough.
The large O ring seal gets dirty and fails on those. Sometimes the pivot bolt backs out as well.
