A good friend will take you trail riding, an ADV friend will double back and say, "how did you get down there?"

That's awesome news! I was wondering if they had lifted the closures when the SFNF lifted theirs. I'm out of town next week on a dual sport trip but back to San Yo after the national!

Yes, finally! It's been raining pretty steady all over the state for the past 3 weeks or so. Mostly in the mountains, but the deserts and BLM lands (like San Ysidro) have gotten some good rain too. Looks like everything is starting to green up finally and is back open again! You should really consider a winter trek out here sometime and spend a few days playing at San Ysidro...amazing!

Dad is 77, he says he is NOT up for it. Then with nationals, only thing I might have tried was Twinshocks, but I have been overwhelmed at HOME and never got the Fantic ready. Plus I have no clue how to jet the SOB for you guy's place.

I Myself hope to be able to make it an annual "trek" to Sip or something, you guys are some of the funnest guys...

Im watching out for an "OJ" in the "dirtbike flavor" as I think I would love to do some of those "rides" you put on out there. Im thinking a XL of 350 or so, any other suggestions? Seems Suzuki made something nearly same, and being few might get one for pennies? Need something extra cheap I can fix up, but worth while, give me suggestions please. Yah, Wish I had a nice shiney KTM or something like Line-oh-way has, or was it someone else's that you guys were telling me about one evening. But is probably more $ than I can crape for a while.

PS, dont forget you guys are welcome anytime you pass near Salina KS headed anywhere, to drop in, ride or rest...!

A week isnt long enough, I wish I had done smarter career choices, lol. but if I win the lotto, you guys are in trouble (going to see an effing lot of me)... LOL

Damn. Sorry to hear that you cool folks have to give us a skip.

BTW, Lineaway stole that KTM that day. Literally.

Jet for altitude? Hell, I don't do that on the 315's or on OJ. Fuggem. They run the same jets in Taos and Sip (8-10,000 ft) that they do in Roswell (3500ft). I'm WAY too busy drinking beer than to bother getting my hands all gas-smelly changing jets. Boosheet!

Anyhoo, hope to see you kids soon. OJ and I are headed up to Sipapu tomorrow to throw ribbon and help do last-minute prep. Sure you won't change your mind??

P.S. The invite to Sip goes out to ALL here on ADV!!

There are several meanings:

1) crappy running bike due to wrong jetting + much beer = Boosheet or "Brewtus drinks until he doesn't care anymore that his bike runs crappy at any altitude"

2) cold-hearted Beta + forgetting to take off the choke = crappy running bike (Boosheet) or "TJ caused her own rotten ride to Fraiser Peak last week and is now thinking about an Oset that she can't mess up"

I'm sure there are more meanings but those are the ones that come to mind.

cheers

Don`t feel bad Laurie. I cleaned the carb between loops at the ute cup all because of not turning off the choke halfway through the first loop.

Ray Roblin did the same at a Ute Cup a long long time ago.

Yeah I was running too fast and ran out and had to go to reserve. Used the choke to restart and forgot from that moment on!
