Well, with speedtest.net I now get .33Mbps Download and .17 Mbps Upload. Maybe the sky cleared up a little. I got an F- and a F for a grade!

You're slower than Verizon 3G with 2 bars...so if you get that you might want to think about getting one of their data plans. The data cap sucks but if you're just going on ADV it shouldn't be a problem and is probably cheaper than satellite.

I figured out a way to upgrade to both (GEN4 and HD TV) for free. Dish bought out Hughesnet & Excide and now they call their Internet service Dishnet. If you bundle /autopay you get a discount ($10/month). Dishnet's internet is under a promo for the GEN4 & HD services so I end up paying less than my old Hughesnet service. Free equipment & install for both, plus I'm wired for a second TV. 24 month commitment.

Tested my down load/upload speeds this morning with Speakeasy and Speedtest. Now I'm gettting a DL speed of 5.10 Mbps and a UL speed of .48 Mbps. I'm surrounded by hills and trees so I guess I can't complain. I hope springtime folage doesn't kill the speed. So for now it''s a little faster, no money out of pocket and I save a few bucks on my monthly bill.

Too bad my 19-year-old TV doesn't have a clue what a HD picture is.

I never had a problem with Dish which is one reason I went with thier package. I don't demand much out from the tube though.
