S.O.S. My boyfriends trying to kill me!

I'm a noob and I am looking for some other women to ride with. I have been riding with my boyfriend but I could swear he wants to kill me. He's just waiting for me to get life insurance so he can finish the job.

Any Southern California riders out there?

You should lead the ride..
Set the pace, Then you can try to do the same to him
I think there are a lot of female riders in your area...

Thanks for the welcome and advice. I'll give it a try.

I'm thinking about chillin' and going solo while the boyfriend rides the blues and blacks.

Any body have any funny stories about when they were learning how to ride?

I just got six stitches in my knee last weekend and this weekend I got a new pair of knee pads. Yahoo

Live fast, play hard and leave a good looking corpse!

Well, at the time, I didn't think it was very funny....
I rode dirt bikes on and off when I was a kid. My parents were dead set against me having anything with 2 wheels and a motor, so I stole rides as often as I could. I really wanted a Honda Spree, remember those?!!! Anyway, years go by and I move out and head to college. I'm living in Ypsilanti MI and working in Ann Arbor (A2), at the time I'm driving a beat up '75 nova that I put the motor in in high school auto shop, it decides to have a melt down on the side of the road on the way to work. The whole front end slams to the ground, I abandon it and walk away stripping it of anything that will connect me including all VIN numbers!!!!
Next day I'm at MI motorsports with my mom!!! She cosigned a loan for my brand new '90 TW200!!!! God that bike was fun in the snow!!! Anyway, I have to get to work next day, and I've never ridden a manual bike on the streets, always scooters. So at 4 am the nite before, I'm in my apartment parking lot, crying. Crying and trying to remember how to take off on a hill, since A2 is very hilly!!! I finally got the hang of it and made to work on time the next morning. I've yet to look back. 2 weeks later I took my riding test at the DMV with 10 other people, only 4 of us passed including me!!!!!
Its funny, now. But it wasn't funny then. I'm now a Rider Coach for the state of Georgia and Harley-Davidson. That story comes in handy from time to time with the ladies and the guys. Hope someone here will get something out of it. Good luck to you rollergirl, and remember, your worst day on a motorcycle is still better than any day at work!!!!
aw..shit.

I have read Becktastics thread and it is quite entertaining.

I just got home from an enjoyable weekend of riding in the Kernville area. My boyfriend was on his best behavior and there was no crashing just getting used to having a 350 cc engine between my legs and getting used to dirt. (1986 Yamaha xt 350).
I know it's old and possibly funky but I like vintage and it is on the verge of being vintage.
Thank you for the welcome.

Women's gear for sale

Hi ladies!

I posted this up in the Rockies forum, but thought it would be worth adding here too. I have an awesome, like new pair of BMW Light 'n' Easy Women's pants, size 8R. They run small, fit more like a 6. Been worn maybe a dozen times, in perfect condition. Knee armor, ankle zips. They retailed for something silly like $375, I'm looking for $180 and shipping.

I also have a very cool XS Speed and Strength Gone Baby Gone jacket that I'm about to send back (ended up buying the S instead, it's so annoying being in between sizes!), but would happily sell to anyone interested for $60 plus shipping. It's a $250 jacket that just got discontinued, I liked it so much I bought two since the price was so good. Features: nice back armor, panels that zip off entirely to convert to armored mesh, waterproof liner, elbow and shoulder armor. I have the silver/black combo.

Finally, another soon-to-be return unless someone wants them: Women's Savannah pants in L. These are not pants for the pear-shaped-woman. I usually wear a size 4-6, and the L were still too small for my hind end. Cool pants though, wish they'd work for me. Waterproof liners, hip and knee armor, adjustable thighs, zips. Asking $150 and shipping.

aerostich

Hey girls, I'm new to this forum. Any girls out there wear aerostich? can you share your likes and dislikes?
Thinking about taking a ride up to Duluth Mn to check it out and grab some new riding pants.
any thoughts on bmw pants vs. aerostich? I can't believe how hard it can be to find a good fit. I'm 5'8" and have a 32" inseam and around 126 lbs.
any help and thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you looked at the Rev'it Sand pants? I have the Dakars and love them - first pair of riding pants that actually fit/feel the best out there for me (5'4, #110)

I've been riding street bikes for 11 years, and have done "easy" dual sport riding for about 3 years. I just picked up a small dirt bike to learn more challenging stuff and gain confidence on items such as rocks and roots. Motorcycling is my addiction, and I am kicking myself for not getting into it at an earlier age. What holds me back now is the knowledge that middle-aged bones don't heal as quickly, and the fearlessness I had when I was 16 is a thing of the past! Maybe there is some kind of magic pill that can turn me into a risk-taking wild woman!!

My gear gives me the confidence to be brave and bold! MX boots, A* Stella Bionic 2 body armor, knee guards (just destroyed my Icon ones, Thor Force guards on order...hopefully they can take my crashing...), need a new helmet too...maybe my gear makes me too bold.
