did not know there was a women's thread :)

I am from Pensacola, FL but will be coming to Morganton, GA tomorrow for weekend with KLX250 with knobbies and CBR600. I am looking to ride some challenging dual sport.... anyone?

2 weeks in Utah & Nevada, & new mesh jacket

Last month, we took a two-week motorcycle route, 2989 miles / 4810.329 kilometres, from Oregon, quickly through Idaho, into Utah and Nevada, and back to Oregon.

The trip included Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, Moab, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Goblin Valley - Utah State Park, Anasazi State Park Museum, Bryce Canyon National Park, Great Basin National Park, camping on BLM land, Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge, and a crash, by me, on the notorious Shafer Switchbacks (anyone else out there done them?).

Here's the long-winded, way-more-than-you-want-to-know travelogue, and here are about 90 photos (the photos each have descriptions - hard to see on the "new" flickr unless you do a slide show). And you can just read about the crash, if you want (yes, of course there are photos).

My husband had been nagging me to get a mesh jacket for the trip. I wasn't convinced... but then, on the ADV women riders group on Facebook, I wrote I was going on this trip & someone said I was going to die without a mesh jacket... so I went to LeatherUp and bought the cheapest one I could find that still looked safe. Oh mighty Isis, was THAT ever a great purchase. I just wish I could have gotten it in green or even gray instead of PINK!

You'll get the switchbacks eventually. I had trouble a couple of times on my Alps trip, you really have to look trough them and it is not so easy because you are looking for something that you can't see. So you have to look for where it could be and yeah.

I'm glad you are ok now!
