Team Inverell held a garage sale on the weekend. Over $700 raised and still a few items to go . All donated goods.

Next thing is a movie night on the 7th with the Isle of Mann TT showing in the Inverell Cinema. Should be a good night.

Already buying a rough DR250 Scrapper, he has felt the insatiable need to buy another rough DR250 Scrapper, even the same year 1982

Some retired, most not (me for instance). Mainly, persistance wins the day.

Congrats on getting the mighty Suzuki Ag past the rego demons Phil.

Now, can anyone help me out with a posty bike rack? Or something very similar, you Ag bike collectors up nIverell way got a spare? Even better if it's one with the indicators attached underneath. An inmate gave me one previously but it got a bit bent during the last few moments of my SAR 2012 experience . I'm looking for a freebie, but happy to pay with beers and pay for the postage, of course. Anyone?

Ok, being a fan of Mitas tres and having had many years of great success with them - I think I'll,stick with the brand for this ride however which actual tyre???

Some advice please gents as I don't know the area or the tracks we will be riding........ E07 is my normal favourite but should I go the E09 for this one

I have a free band new tank bag available for anyone who wants it for the SAR. About 8 litre capacity with map window, only prob is it is a magnetic attachment jobbie but could be retrofitted. Let me know if you are interested and I can throw it in the post.

Rider Update

Col Meacham – Team Inverell

Passed Rego, had a test run to town and back and now ready to go.

Top speed 95.7 kph downhill with an moving average of about 75kph.

Working dog Molly is on the front with the Team Mascot "Scrapper" on the back. Molly will not be going with me.

The fuel tank gives the bike some credibility. It was mounted on a DR for an Australian Safari a number of years ago. The bike, and tank, finished on the podium.

Wikepedia states the following,
Capacity - 180.2 CC
HP - 13.2 HP @ 7500 rpm
Weight 106.5 kg
Fuel Capacity - 6.2 lt

I say the following;

Performance - Marginal
Comfort - Marginal
Handling - Marginal
Reliability - We will see
Fuel Capacity - 16 lt
Scrapability - Perfect

Hi Col,

the bike looks the part and I love the touch of street cred the ex-Safari-podium tank brings to the whole affair.

Now, does anyone have a BMW K100 right hand switch block/master cylinder lying about? I need to repair mine and could get away with just the starter button and kill switch at a pinch, or the back half of the block with all the switches, OR the whole thing. Anything considered, anyone?

The first two of the Hillbillies bikes have been registered, one is a 197* Honda CB350 in close to original order, belongs to Glennys. The second one is a Yamaha XV750, belongs to Owen. Bike #3 is an early Yamaha XT500 with a few mod's,belongs to Dougie, it's still on the bench but will be back together this weekend. Bike #4 is of course the mighty BEEMERNATOR. Looks like we'll have 5 riders sharing 4 bikes and the back-up troopy. I'll post some pics on the weekend.

So, 28 days today and I become redundant from my job ...... 29 days from today I go on SAR4 Rebuilding the mighty BEEMERNATOR has become quite therapeutic
