This might even be a better version. I saw this over on an Aussie forum and thought someone close to Gas Gas might know more ??

From the US Gas Gas Distributer:

"Mark Berg and I visited the Sherco factory last month and I was impressed. We got to ride a pre-production 250 2T. It was pretty strong. It has an electronic power valve and it is the first 2T designed to incorporate an e start design in the cases, not added on to the engine. Their 300 4T was pretty impressive, too. It has a 6 speed gear box which worked really well. There is a pretty good chance that we will import Sherco, too."

What do we all know about it?? Any more other than the short video that someone took on a mobile?

Of course I didn't expect it to be 50 state legal, but turn signals here make it pretty much good to go even with an off road title.
Thats why I was wondering about the pre-mix description from Sherco.....it sounded just like any other off-road mx 2 stroke (cr/yz/kx/rm etc.) that we've had here for sale in the past. Without blinkers it sounds like it'll be strictly off-road for the U.S.

I was thinking more alomg the lines of all the guys who've been talking freeride, it's that type of bike with a two stroke, not an enduro race bike like the regular two strokes will be.

The 2 stroke 250 and 300 enduro bikes are supposed to be here sometime in the spring. Don't really know much else.

...and now is when I'm sure someone will chime in that a 2013 St. legal 2-stroke already exists that I've never heard of.

I like the concept, now how about something with a real tank. (at least 4 gallons, 5 for 400CC on up)
FYI KTM is working on a direct injected 2smoke that is 49 state street legal.

Ossa is supposed to have a FI two stroke enduro bike soon.

The new sherco enduro two strokes are supposed to have a tube able electric power valve. Should be interesting.

Remember the V-Due? Aprilia doesn't want to lol

Aprilia spent a HUGE amount of money years back on developing a 500cc v-4 direct-injection 2 stroke sportbike called the V-Due.....it almost bankrupted them They never could get it to run right...even after starting production and selling them. Terrible fiasco. I hope direct-injection technology has come a LONG way since then

I think the X Ride is carbed for 2013 and then for 2014 it will be FI , I wouldn't hesitate buying FI from Sherco as it has been faultless and perfect on my Sherco 450 .I believe they were among the first to do it to an enduro and got it right on first time in 05 .

Another thing, Sherco actually answer e mails and phone calls !!!!

How many factories do that??

Actually it was a Bimota and it was a V-2.

Yep I wasn't positive on the maker and engine config...v2 or v4......thanks for clearing it up. I followed that bike with some interest, I grew up on 2 stroke street bikes and was drooling at them making a comeback
I still hope somebody can do it right.....
