I just saw this.
I would have been interested.
I have gone to the Artic circle in Norway before, then did Alaska the following year but, to go all the way to Nordcapp would be awesome.
Let me know if you change your mind.
The D2D is an awesome experience as well, been there, done that :)
I can catch a ferry to Denmark, Oslo is an easy 2 day ride from the ferry and the Artic circle is a day north from there on the main road.

Funny coincidence, I just met an Irishman in Wellington New Zealand yesterday who had me laughing non-stop and as I wiped the tears from my eyes, asked, "are all Irishmen this darned funny" to which he replied. Yep.

I'm pretty close to finalizing my Alaska ride but thanks for the shout out. I'll be in Europe next summer and will do this ride.

Well, lets put it this way, it would be a very entertaining trip to Nordcapp. Pass no bar, put a smile on every barmaids face and do some awesome riding.
You will love Dawson. The Dempster is a great ride, pity there is nothing at the end except a lot of drunk natives and overpriced food.
I would happily spend weeks in Dawson, so many bars...

I just met K.L Rocket at the Mendo Rally (she let me borrow her gerbing vest for Alaska) and she mentioned reaching out to you!

My RR. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=903327

Sasha reached out to me and this ride might be on for this summer after all.

Thanks for the nudge. With all of the political unrest in 2 of the countries I'd intended to ride through, I'll skip this for another year.

The plan B ride will most likely be South America this Christmas.

What 2 countries ? The only place where people are having a go at stupidity right now is Ukraine... Russia is not a problem, unless someone is stupid enough to start a shooting war.

As for timing and Scandinavia; there is one rule; do not speed, you will regret it and it can ruin your vacation. In Norway +25km/h is equal walking, and no amount crying will not help. Therefor plan at least 3 - 4 days extra to cover Russia -> Nordkapp -> out of scandinavia....

I would have to respectfully disagree.

Yes Yes I know. I tend to undervalue warning about areas. (traveled through Turkey twice and near the Kosovo boundary during tense times etc)

However some of what is happening is work is FT till Christmas and I love my Tiger here and I want to unburden Luke from keeping my F650 for me in Bulgaria.
