Ben,
Had planned to be there again this year on the old Berg, but my home situation has just had a major change.
Havent completely given-up hope yet, but have a trip planned over west later in year - just might no be able to do both this year. Next year might be there as a single man!
Had an absolute blast last year and learnt alot.
Are Damien and David lining-up again?

On the new 501 this year - have you got a practice bike aswell?

Cheers mate

G'day Jak,

Bad news on the home front. Hopefully you get it sorted and get back to riding soon enough.

Bobcat and I are heading up but not sure what Dave is doing?

Yep I got a 350 Berg just before Christmas. Bloody awesome bike. Big leap forward from the 70" bikes. As much as I loved them the new ones are just better to ride.

Hopefully see you there next year then and maybe Safari??

Anyone interested in splitting postage or trying to get a group discount on the Rallye Navigation Solutions gear from Tony? Tripmaster XL looks pretty good now Dakar tested!

Joe, after pulling just about every wire out, and replacing & sealing, I ran a year of pony expresses, and sprints, with no problem.

Took it out to Condo last year, and by the 3rd selective, had the same problem.

Just after dark on the Sat. night, still trying to figure out what the problem was, started it, and just happened to look down the front of the motor, and saw sparks from the coil.

It was the earth wire to the coil, the only wire I didn't take off.

The year I broke my collarbone, was about 2004, my first attempt. On a XR600.

2008, my best ever, 17th,out of about 50 starters.

No time no money.

But it would be good to get this thread going and hopefully entice a few more advriders to enter.

Great event for most skill levels even if your not interested in racing.

Good luck to all competing this year, it is blast to be sure. Joe are you not walking down with the Kato strapped to your back to save the tyres for the event? Can't make this year as I have started another new job, but will be there next year with my son (racing this time, not support crew). In line with that any ideas for next years date? I have applied for time off covering the easter break (and either side). A long shot I know but I was just wondering.

Cheers

I'm on the list!
Only 17 riders have registered so far, so my target of a top 20 position looks feasible so far.

Congrats geoz,
One point of consideration is the requirements for first time runners. You will need one of these to get past scrutineering.

I look forward to saying howdy..
