Maui weather in November

Honestly, thought about which regional forum I should go with this,,,perhaps the moderators will move it to an appropriate one, that would be cool.
I've been to Maui probably 20 times since the mid 80's,,,,almost exclusively South Kehei [company free use condo at Kamaole Beach 2] and once at Maalaea Harbour. It's been 7 years since the last visit, but I probably know the island better than my own town. I'm heading over there in late Nov, looking at Lahaina this time. A bit unsure about the weather there compared to the popcorn dry southwest. Perhaps someone could give me an idea of what happens up there in the afternoons when the clouds sit up by Kaanapali.

Sounds as though this would be the spot:

West – California, the desert southwest and whatever is left

Since Hawaii isn't mentioned anywhere I'm guessing it falls under "whatever is left". And it is way left of the left coast.

I've been in Nov. and only 3 times overall so you should know the temps only vary a few degrees from summer to winter, and the odds of having a brief shower daily is a little greater.
If you want to play in the water, the waves are bigger and theres less reliable winds in the 'winter', or as some would call it, the off season.

Love the big isle. Only variable there is the volcano haze that often cools things dramatically south of Kona.

...it will be challenging, but somehow I think I'll be able to tolerate it!

Hey Steve,

I've only been to Maui about 5 times....stayed in Kihei once, all the rest were between Kaanapali and Napili.

I didn't find the weather that much different. Perhaps the equivalent of downtown vs the north shore here. If it's going to rain badly, the whole island will get it. But I've never seen constant rain in the north where the south was totally dry.

Unless it's unusual, bank on passing showers, but nothing too bad.

Definitely better waves though!

Enjoy your trip.

I usually snorkel down at turtle town at Makena Landing,,,,or down south at La Perouse Bay. Super clear water down there.

It has been many years since I have been in the islands and have a question regarding rental car etiquette:

...when I was there last - there seemed to be a lot of smash-and-grabs in parking lots, so people would leave a door or windows open to avoid glass replacement charges on the rental bill.

Anyone know if this car rental etiquette is still in use?
