CRF250L Vs XR 400 ??

I wonder how anyone who has the new CRF can compare it to an XR400. I had an XR4, that I found an imense tractor, able to pull or chug up snotty rocky lanes, yet still be comfortable for a 60 mile ride home on the tarmac at 60 mph. I have initially poo poo'd the idea of a small 250 again... especially one carrying some weight, but I like the look of them and have looked at them close up and think they have some great qualities

Both good bikes but very different in so many ways. We had a good, similar discussion on the KLX forum about the two bikes. Most of this will apply almost equally with the CRFL.
