R850R Surging, sputtering after going down
Hey all,
I'm a pretty new rider and just went down for the first time on the right side of my '97 R850R last weekend . I got it home, but now it's practically unrideable. It starts and will run, but upon throttling it surges, sputters, and produces incredibly inconsistent power. The cylinder head cover and the spark plug cover are quite scratched up, but I haven't had time yet to start tinkering (hoping to this weekend). I've had the bike about a month now, and haven't worked on it much. Has anyone had a similar experience or does anyone have any thoughts as to the root of this problem? Thanks |

Make sure the throttle cables are seated at both throttle bodies and the bowden box.

You may have leaked some fuel into the charcoal canister. It'll run like like shit till it burns out all the fuel in there

I would pull the sparkplugs as well.
Perhaps the one on the side you dropped it on has a crack or is bent. |
