New GoPro
New Go Pro
![]() Hero III black edition This one is a game changer with the new filming modes. GP wouldn't give me one to test out (I asked) so I had to preorder one. Unfortunately it won't be here in time for the Swell ride. I may keep the old one as a perm roost cam ![]() Expect a quality improvment in the RF vids

I am looking forward to see what the vids turn out like!! Nice, small, easy to use. What did you have to pay, if you dont mind my asking?
EDIT: just sawthe $400 price tag, not too bad |

I'm not sure how I feel about the 4k resolution at only 15fps. What good is that great resolution if it's herky-jerky?

Looks like another great leap in technology from GoPro! I've been putting off buying a Hero 2 and I'm glad I did! My HD Hero has been great, but the Hero 3 looks like a winner. I love the remote and the GoPro app, where you can see what the cameras viewing on your phone. Once I pick up the Hero 3, my HD Hero will still get used as a second camera for multiple angles. Now to save my pennies for the Hero 3!

The aspheric optic is gonna get rid of the fisheye look; not sure if all chromatic aberration can be corrected with an aspheric.
![]() Damn! Read it a little closer...6 element aspheric. Wow, don't break the lens ($$$).

Of course the GoPro III is gonna be amazing compared to the II.
But what about it is better. I havent really followed the GoPro product at all and want to pick one up. ... and $400 is a bit more than I want to spend. Is the II worth picking up still and are there accessories that are a must have?

The 3 has built in WIFI so you can see the video image from your smart phone which lets you make sure you have a good angle on the camera; something I fought with the Hero about. You can buy a wifi add-on for the earlier cameras but it makes them bulkier and/or they can't use the battery add-on.
I want a 3 but a woody's rear wheel is probably in the cards next.
