I turn north on the US 550 at Durango. Now I'm finally getting into my bike's element.
I had planned to take a longer ride searching out the twisties with the Futura this summer, but we took the KTM to Alaska instead. This short trip will have to make up for it. I still enjoy tight mountain asphalt curves on a high performance machine. I found an explosion of aspen color in the San Juan Mountains.       What a beautiful day for a ride!  Silverton, CO  I stayed on the 550 and didn't even stop in town.  I'd rather enjoy Red Mountain Pass.  |

The miles fly by when you're having fun.   I have never been here before. I reach the Blue Mesa Reservoir and...  head up Highway 92.  The fall colors here were amazing and...  the road was perfect for motorcycles.  Who wouldn't want to rip it through these corners?  Brilliant Aspens  The road twists and turns along the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison with frequent pullouts for scenic views.  |

 We were supposed to go camping up north of Durango this summer and we never made it. Seeing your pictures reminds me to try harder for next summer!

CO Hwy 92 Blue Mesa Res to Paonia, CO

 for the super twisty, super nice stretch of Hwy 92. Ridden it on the superbike and the GS and had a fantastic ride!Was in SW Colorado in September to ride the high dirt passes around Silverton, Telluride, Lake City. Your timing with the aspens turning was better. Nice pics Dave as always...
