The more I look at this bike, the more I notice I'm going to spend a ton of cash on it, if I buy it. The ergos will surely need some work, as will some basics I've already mentioned.

Oye.

BTW, this bike in the sand compared to my 640 so far seems much better.

Newbie here, but are you sure you're on choke? My XR600 full choke is up, normal is down.
Looks nice from the pics

The xr came with a mechanical odo -XR'S ONLY has a spacer to eliminate that odo drive.Good bike but it will take some money in farkles to turn it into a long distance pack mule.I own 1 and have turned it into a so-so adv bike. The ability to run 70-75 on a freeway then exit on to a dirt road is why i like it.but being 5'11" and 180lbs I find it a little heavy for single track but I cant afford a ktm exc.

being 6,6 you will need rox risers with those current bars .or new top clamp to change the ergo's IE forward and hight
then you will need longer cables
dunno your weight but at that height you are,you will need suspesion to get the best out of this bike

carb will be fine just needs a clean ...
a better headlight will require you to upgrade your stator
there a sweet bike motarded ..go like the clappers

if you want to ADV the bike you will need to spend some money on it

i have modded the crapout of my xrr and spend money on stuff for it all the time

i love the bikes ...hence its a no loss for me as i will always have my xrr

just my 2 cent
