Anyone entered Ecuador on their Bike recently??

Just about to return to Ecuador to pick up my bike and start riding south.

Have a question about paperwork and need a rider who has entered in the last month or so...

Thx!

Mark,
I would imagine that Court Rand at Freedombikerental Ecuador would be up to date on that kind of info!

Sorry I haven't been out of Ecuador on a motorcycle for 3 years now! But I did just have a bike go out to Peru and come back in. But that won't help you, Mark I don't think. You are looking for a foreign bike entering Ecuador I imagine...

My experience at the HUaquillas Tembes Crossing 2011

I had a bike in Ecuador with an expired permit

When I tried to check into Peru, customs asked if I had checked the bike out of Ecuador and I said "No" because I couldn't find Aduana in the Ecuador side.

Peru customs told me to go back and check the bike out of Ecuador.

Went back to Ecuador. Found Aduana. "Checking" the bike out of Ecuador consisted of handing over my permit which was not doubt then tossed in the trash.

I didn't receive any receipt, stamp or other form of confirmation from Ecuador that I checked the bike out.

Returning to Peru customs asked "Did you check your bike out of Ecuador?"

I said "Yes."

That was it. Probably not worth the worry. But you NEVER know.

I have just crossed into Equador in last few days. I am staying at the Casa Helbling until Wed. You are welcome to check out my paper work if that will help.

Was not really wanting to post up that my customs paperwork for Ecuador was expired, and that I needed to "adjust" the paperwork so that I could exit Ecuador without any issues

But I exited Ecuador without stopping at the Aduana for Ecuador, and am Legally in Peru and riding southward

I was just checking others paperwork to make sure that I was correct in how the "adjustment" was made. But fortunately I did not have to turn it in, and had no issues. Appreciate the help of other bikers!

Carry On!

Met up with atadold, and just ran into csustewy in Huanchaco beach town. Very cool!

Be sure to go check out canon del pato farther south as well as paracas national park before you go inland. DO go inland as too much of the coastal panam gets a bit monotonous.
