Thanks man... hope you had fun.
I have been wondering how i could have missed it, since i personally scouted that whole area...

Now i remember... on Hwy 10 the bridge where it crosses the Verdigris River was closed for construction. We started to go across anyway, when we realized there were workers down on the other end, so we had to take a jog around...

Glad you found it...

So i've been looking for alternative routing up in the osage county section, and it got me thinking. Does anyone have an opinion on the section between the salt plains and bartlesville? Would it be bad if we changed that section to a more strait route between those two points? we would loose frog rock and the graffiti wall.

Say it ain't so!

The Perry to Cleveland leg is awesome! You can't cut that out. Graffiti Wall, the outlaw memorial and frog rock is too good to pass up.

Ok, first try, Cleveland to the "Cool Bridge Loop" north of Dewey by way of some tall grass prairie. I have ridden more than 50% of this route and it is a good ride. I'm fairly sure most of it is still dirt. The 'unknown' is from 'D' on Hwy 20 to Foraker but I think that is a doable section.
There used to be a bad place at "I" on this route, when that lake is up it was about 10 foot water crossing maybe 2 feet deep with a soft feeling bottom. Last two times I was across it though it was high and dry and looked like a good layer of new crushed rock on it.

Google Map Linky

Needs to be scouted for sure and it does add some miles to the overall OAT. Just an idea, won't hurt my feelings at all if anyone wants to modify it or reject it completely.

the area from F to K we could use the TAT section through there. Its already a well traveled and already mapped route.

Kinda the responce i was expecting. We will keep them, and just change some of the filler section between frog rock and bartlesville.

So do you have to ride at least 50% of the OAT to qualify to put one of these stickers on your bike???

I think I am going to try to ride the whole OAT loop next week. I will be riding down from Iowa. I haven't decided which direction I will ride it. Anything I need to know?

In the Eastern half, there is a section called "Heavner Challenge" and "Advanced 50 miles to Fuel", those sections are the most technical, kinda like the Colorado TAT... but they are short lived.

There is another section that may get a bit harry between Broken Bow and Hugo.

Out west there are some sandy spots to look for.

One thing to keep in mind in Oklahoma is the weather! Portions of the route in Central and Western Oklahoma will be impassable in the rain, due to nasty red clay... which makes for really nice red dirt roads when dry.

What kind of bike are going to ride?

Keep us posted, if you get in bind give us a shout, Okies are famously friendly and helpful folks.
