The OAT looks like a great ride, I'm new to GPS, is it possible to download this to a Delorme Gps unit?

You can download it to the Delorme unit. Check HERE to see what type of files you can upload.

I went ahead and rode on to look at it, as long as there hasnt been any significant rainfall you should be able to get around the bridge that is out. There is a track for the construction vehicles on the South side of the bridge. I probably wouldnt try it on my speed triple or in a passenger car but it was no problem on my KLR650.

Marlow....camelback rd.... You're in my vicinity, and we need to meet up and do some riding.

Can't turn around...might as well keep going.

Nice day for January with 55 degrees and a bit of wind. Thought I would get out and play a bit on the OAT. I rode the NE quarter last summer, so today I picked up the trail east of Guthrie and headed north. Great day, roads in good condition with a little moisture to keep the dust down and I am cooking along on the GS.

I cross over I-35 and am a bit SW of Billings on Yearling Road (EO350) about a mile before it intersects with N3100. I pop over a rise going west and suddenly I am on a 3/4 mile stretch where they have pulled the ditches up and freshly graded the surface. Trees lining the whole south side, snow in the ditches and not a speck of gravel to be seen. 3" deep in the slickest red slime a guy can imagine. Too slick to turn around (don't think it would have pulled the grade even if I could have) can't hardly stand up in the stuff. Which makes the choices be just keep going and hope it didn't get deeper or wait until it freezes solid tonight! So I dog paddled, got on the pegs when I could, got off and pushed when I had to and after an hour of making like a pig on ice I made it to the intersection and found some gravel.

I have always looked at those pictures of guys on their GS's buried in the slop or laying splattered out on a bad stretch of mud and thought "What idiots!"

Well, yes. Yes we are.

What a great afternoon!

Sounds like a fun ride!
Give it a chance to dry out then ride that stretch again, you'll wonder what the problem was.

Jeesh, it's been quite here!

I've been waiting for the right opportunity to hit the OAR for a 3 day ride, and hopefully get half of the route in. Work is keeping me hooked up. I may have to fire myself for a few days...

I rode some of it Sunday, didnt take very many pictures. No real excitement.
Between the Farmer's and the Oilfeild closing roads,I'm not sure how much of it I actully rode on. And I still have the original track in my GPS.
I can tell you that the Salt Plains road is closed, open from April to Oct.
I started in the Perry area and semi followed the track till they intersected with 412, then hauled cold butt home !!

Still a good ride! Total mileage for the day was about 230 or so!
