That's GOOD NEWS.

Back to someplace other than a hospital, closer to family and friends, home is the best....

Glad to hear he's going home. I hate hospitals, and I can't think of any place I'd like to die less than a hospital. Thanks again for the update.

I'm both extremely sad and happy that he will be going home to hospice. Hospice is great but really double edged sword. It means things are not good and they want what we all want... for Robert to be as happy as possible and in no pain.

Robert, I know you don't really know me other than me buying some things from you, but thanks for all of the input you have ever given to the community. Words can't do you justice. I hope you are able to go on one more ride...

Thanks man... Shane

As I am sure some of these sentiments will get to him. Thank you for all your help. I have only been in the motorcycle world for 2 years now and those 2 years have been on my old airhead. Your help, advise and such have made it easier, and more enjoyable and at times possible for me to keep this old bike running right. My enjoyment of my airhead has at times been made possible by your contributions and input both on the boards and offline. Thanks a million, i hope to be able to ask you many many more questions in the future!

I don't know what to say. I've enjoyed the advice, corrections to wrong info, wisdom, a little bit of humor, and all around good information Robert's been able to deal out about one of my favorite subjects, old BMW motorcycles.

At some point in the next couple years, I'm hoping to take a trip southwest via motorcycle, and finding a reason to stop by Roberts place out in the desert was a definite plan of mine.

I respect you, and think you're a genuinely cool dude. I'm hoping to find you post in here saying that you'll be ok..

Robert,
Happy to hear you will be at home and in a familiar place. Sorry I didn't get out ot see you when I was out that way. However, I'm not giving up and hope to see you when I'm back. You're a subject matter expert, you can't go anywhere. Stay strong.

While there are some threads currently bemoaning the quality of participants on this forum, I still feel that there are lots of wise folks willing to give you advice for free. If you type in just about any airhead question on Google, there's a pretty good chance that the first couple of hits are going to direct you to ADVrider. That's saying something for both the overall quality of the forum membership and the vastness of experiences within this community. wirewrkr really helped perpetuate that. Robert, I've really appreciated your wisdom over the years. Godspeed.

Wishing you the best in these hard times. I've not met or even sought your advice (how's that I don't know with all my wrenching), but saddened to hear of your health, be strong and it's heart felt to know that people who haven't actually met have such a common bond.

Positive thoughts to you and your family.

Robert is at home

Received an email from Colleen that Robert is at home
and is surrounded by family for the time being. Colleen wrote

"When I was there we talked about bikes, gossiped about people we know in common, played a little remember when..."

Please send your " REMEMBER WHEN"S" and I will reading them to him when I get there

... well, I'm at an age when the "remember when's..." come a little randomly (random access memory, they call it!)...

..... but I just have to say that when I first came into ADV with an old airhead that I was reviving/ building, I made a lot of phantom/invisible-friends with lots of advice, encouragement, sarcasm and humor... advice from many, certainly including Robert... and having done my share of wiring and electrical work, I really appreciated the WireWrkr by name and by contributions...

I think it fair to say the "we" collectively have a very real friendship and bond with Robert and his online presence, and we all know him in our own way. I certainly wish you peace, Robert, and the knowledge that you mean so much to a lot of good folks who are proud to call you a friend.

Long story to get to the point. I get it.

Amen.

And Robert has lots of us friends pulling for the best outcome for him, whatever form that takes.
