Very sad news. Robert has been a huge help to me during my project. Renner and I have been meaning to ride our beemers up to JT and hang out with Robert - Robert, if you're reading, we still intend to do that as soon as you're up for it:) My thoughts are with you.

He's been very generous to me with help, insight & information.
We talked on the phone a few weeks ago and it was like talking with a good friend, though I've only known him through posts here.

fixing bikes is easy, seeing a friend's life threatened by illness isn't

Sad news for sure. I was just thinking about him in connection with some idle mental exercises about what things my airhead might need for long term maintenance. And he's helped me out in the past.
