Installed a set of Fastways, TT extended brake pad and TT adjustable shifter for my 1150GSA. Just purchased them from a fellow inmate. I paid on Sunday, he shipped on Monday and I received them last night. Of course I installed them after the family went to bed!

Added some footman tie down straps to the saddle bags and rear trunk to make it easier to tie down my tent and Kayak bags.

JVB suggested adding the GS rubber inserts for highway comfort. Thousands of miles later, I can say he was correct!

Look in the flea market for used GS options. Here is maxbmw link and part number:

Pick up a used set of ohlins GSA shocks for the gs. At what point is my 07 gs actually a GSA? Tank check, alternator check, shocks check...

Guess I get to weld extension on the side and center stands too.

Or, pick up a few hockey pucks and bolt them to your side and center stands. Trim as needed.

This makes the mod reversable.

Fitted Touratech cylinder guards, and Wunderlich bar risers to the GS. Will test the risers tomorrow.

To answer your question and anyone else that might be interested... the place where I mounted the footman loops are outer covers for the saddle bags. those covers are removable. there is some gaps between the cover and the case where you can locate the bolts so nuts can fit without interference. I used 10/32 stainless machine bolts and nuts.

On the top case the two front loops location has no space... I drilled the holes smaller than the bolts and they self tapped, the nuts are visible inside the top of the trunk... those are the only two that did not have space to avoid drilling through the cases.

This part fits the Fastways? This is what I was going to try. Looks like it will cost about the same. (photo linked to same location as original post noted earlier)

I went with those -- he had them laying around the shop. Work wonderfully. Perhaps jvb can clarify fitment for different aftermarket pegs?

Yes, standard BMW rubber inserts. You can also use them on a couple other aftermarket peg sets.

The part number Nova listed was for the F800GS, F700GS and F650GS. That does not appear to fit as far as I can tell. I see based on the post I linked the rubber for the 1100/1150 footrest does work. Very good to know. Thanks!

most recently, okay in the last month on my 95 1100gs. Replaced the bearings in my gearbox (thanks Murkidi), replaced input and output shaft seals. Replaced throttle cable (found it was frayed when I started pulling the gear box), replaced the air filter, replaced the fuel pump and filter, lubed the splines just need to replace the weepy final drive pinion seal sync the carbs and I can close her up and ride her.
