What have you done to your GS or GS Adventure today?

I received the Micro-Start XP-3 mini charger yesterday. It comes with charging accessories for the unit with 110 AC and 12v DC. It also has one multi-purpose cord for charging iPod, iPhone 3 through 5, iPad, firewire and mini-firewire. A set of jumper cables are supplied, too. I charged the unit and it took about 30 minutes as it had a partial charge.

I disconnected the battery on my V-8 Ford Explorer, attached the supplied cables, then plugged the cables into the XP-3. The Explorer started up just fine. I turned it off and repeated the process four more times. The XP-3 got a little warm but that was it. I'll charge it again tonight and head for the BMW dealership tomorrow as they are very interested in this. I'll post our findings.

Mike

Clutch issue

I may need to mess the GS as I noticed clutch noise.
Please advise the good thread of Clutch replacement and where to buy the replacement. I think it is 60-70K miles clutch.
Should I consider an used clutch set or must be the new set?
Thanks.

Installed my custom low seat on my 1150GSA, and then my two tone red and silver freshly powder coated happy trail panniers. And then my top case platform. Will get some pics posted tomorrow.

Sort of boring compared to some of the projects on here but I stayed up till 3AM last night to do the following in a marathon session so I could ride today in 70 deg Virginia weather:

So that's the Black Dog skid plate, Gerbings permanent mount controllers and ports, Pivot Pegz Mark3 and not pictured but done is the P3 light set. There is also a centech block under the seat.

Next week will be the adventure rack tool box, locking fairing attachment, Rox Risers with quick locks, and side stand enlarger.

The Micro-Start XP-3 worked as advertised starting motorcycles. We did 5 starts using the XP-3 connected to disconnected battery cables. When I got home, I charged my iPhone with it and that took about 40 minutes. After that, I recharged the XP-3 and dropped it into my saddlebag. The company says it'll hold a charge for 6 months to one year. We'll see but, so far, so good.

Thanks, kurtzinpa, for letting us know about this handy little gadget.

Mike

Auxiliary Fuse block

Installed a Auxilary 50 AMP fuse block from Eastern Beaver PC-8 (http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Wi...PC-8/pc-8.html) installed on a CycleNutz Accessory Fuse Block Mount (http://www.cyclenutz.com/Accessory-F...More_p_77.html).

This allowed me to install My Gerbing heated gear, Auxiliary headlights, and my Zumo 390LM with room to spare for future additions. All this with only two connections to the battery and easier access to the connections. Nice install thanks to fellow inmate Frankencycle who was more patient than I - slowing me down to do a more quality job and provide wiring skill and expertise!!!

Currently it can do all fault code checking and resetting, service and clock checks and resetting, and real time value reading. It has other functions I am using such as switching from USA to Metric measurements.

Handy tool since it works on any smart phone or tablet with WiFi.
