Some days not so much

No riding for me today, weather not so inviting. But I got to spend the day at home with the family .
I did go out in the garage and gawk at the bike a few times.

Tomorrow is looking good for a lengthy excursion.

I rode 80 miles of quite difficult terrain and replaced a final drive that was leaking. Tomorrow, I intend to ride 115 miles of quite difficult terrain and not replace a final drive.

Your signature is showing a 2012 MTS1200ST -

Is the Multistrata not scratching the itch anymore?

No riding since I can't flex the wrist/twist the throttle. My right hand, wrist and arm are in a non-removable cast so I had to take it easy for the day. (And the next two weeks!)

So I installed a wunderlicht skid plate , a set of pivot pegs, a set of Advdesign lower crash bars, (really nice!) and a new set of the tourarech hand guards to my 2006 GSA.

They all look great and I can't wait till I can ride again.

No riding today but I did move the GS around in the garage. Spent some time thinking about my next mod... maybe a new set of auxilary lights, maybe replace the stock headlight bulbs with aftermarket PIAAs...

Gave some thought to relocating the RAM mount for my Garmin 60CSX from above the tach to the handlebars. Figure this will make it a bit easier to read the GPS while riding.

Last week I had to replace my battery and modified the front rod that adjusts the seat height to allow the seat to fit with the new battery. Found a great post on here where the OP cut the majority of the bar out and secured the remaining with wire. Great idea that works very well.

Also recently installed a Flash2Pass module to operate the garage door without the opener. Works great and the install was fairly simple.

Finally, I took the long way home from the office on Friday. Put on around 55 miles by the time I rolled in to the garage.

Installed a Hepco & Becker engine guard on my 1100 GS. Wasn't as hard a described in the threads and looks good!

2012 GSA, was running rough and very vibey. Built a manometer and synced throttle. Also checked and adjusted spokes. 70% of front spokes were loose. Rebalanced wheels and everything is back to smooth. Love riding this bike. Can't stay off of it.

Put on a set of PR3s and went for a 2500 mile ride to the Ozarks to scrub the chicken stripes.

New-to-me '09GSA

Friday night I picked up the bike from the seller and met my wife for dinner out.

Saturday I got it licensed and registered; rode around town a bit showing it
to my fam. members. Started cranking slowly so took it by the dealer and
got a new battery installed. ($400 between the two).

Today, Sunday I re-keyed all my adv. luggage to the ignition key so as not to have
to carry 3 keys everywhere. Got the wife to try her first ride on the GS (she's been
on the RT only a few times) and she enjoyed it. Ran some (fun) errands then
took some pics of it in the driveway before putting it to bed for the night.

New to the GS forums and look forward to getting off-road!!

Nice bike, great first post, and welcome! Too bad about the battery, but they do fail from time to time. I'm envious because I will not be taking delivery of my new to me 2012 GSA until January due to work commitments, I'm out of vacation until after the first of the year, and the desire to ride it across country. The seller has graciously allowed me to store the bike in his garage until I take delivery.

More photos please!

A few things

After picking up new for me '10 GS on 10/09 I've put only about 400 ml on it. Within the last week: installed Grip Puppies, installed "wrist-thingy", ordered and installed Powerlet battery to SAE cable, bought and installed a low seat, bought but haven't received yet a bike cover. Had a short (50 ml) ride on Sat, it was a bit chily (41-43 deg) but sunny. Stopped at the local BMW dealer and had a chance to see new BMW scooter 650 GT in person (it seems that the seat on it is higher than on my GS with low suspension). Hoping for the better weather soon.
