Talking

Well I got out and rode it through the woods -

Was on my way here, and afterwards did this and this.

Good times! Enjoyed the 72 degree sunny weather on a November day.

Steering Damper

HyperPro from a local inmate. The ride difference is worth a million bucks.

Just blasted the backside of mount lemmon north of Tucson Arizona two up on the GSA. The second half we finished in the dark. No worries with one pair each of the rigid D2 (3x2 driving style) and Duallys(2x2 spot).

Didn't encounter much sand, but whalloped over several larger rocks while ripping around some 1st gear tight n rocky switchbacks near the top.

I am at the suggested 8 clicks. May experiment clicking up to 10-12. I can see sand being more comfortable at a higher damping level.

Confidence boosted another 3 points.

Cut down a screen from a written-off bike that went down the road (screen has some gravel rash) and installed for the summer. Rode without the screen in bad gusty side/head winds yesterday on the freeway and now with a sore back and neck from the buffeting, which gave me the incentive to put the cutting blade into the top part of the screen just about the top brace. Now thinking of sanding the lightest of the gravel rash out, filling in the worst and painting a semi-matt black...

All I gotta do is test ride it to see if it is successful. Screen cost me a meal, beer and bed for a rider who came through on the way to a rally...

Surprisingly easy and clean to use the cutting wheel on the grinder - just don't grab the molten plastic - it hurts... And plastic dust gets EVERYWHERE!

Moral of the story? For all its noise and buffeting the screen does work - a lot...

My home made tool box, fits the hepco becker racks. This is version 1 and probably on the narrow side but fits my puncher repair kit and first aid kit nicely. The door is fully removable, no hinges and water proof so far. Cost $14 for the lock, $45 for the sheet metal 2mm aluminum, $20 sikoflex. Works for me

I was thinking something similar, so I ordered a set of "elephant ears" from Cee Bailey. For the rest of today (11/12/2012), they are offering a Veterns Day discount - free shipping and 10% off.

Redid the foam and upholstery on my seat today. I did it once when I first got the bike last year, but wanted a better shape for my bum, so I redid it.
Don't know why it looks like it has some wrinkles in the picture, cuz there not there in person.
