Cold Start & high Idle

My new leftover 2010 SMT seems to have a dead cold start issue. I can turn the key off and on a couple of times and it will fire right up. Once warmed up the first time of the day it starts fine. My guess is it hase something to di with a temp sensor, but figured someone on here would know.

Also, where should the idle be set? It sounds excessive, but is only about 1,800 on the tach.

I did a 15 min "tune" on the pumpkin and it seems to have fixed my cold start and idle issue. It was 40 degrees yesterday when I fired her up and it started immediately.

I can't wait to start modding...

13 degrees yesterday morning- refused to start
20 degrees it takes me about 6 tries to get it to run
I wonder if I do a 15 min idle from a cold start if it will cure the starting problems ? I also notice a lot of condesation in my clutch cover making some "milk" when it is cold to warm up- I assume this burns off seeing how the oil does not stay milky ?
Gosh damn CJ clutch cover has me looking at things I would have never seen before - what a great product

warm the bike up before you do the "idle reset".

KTM has changed the "idle reset" period to 10 minutes, no longer 15.

The (true) offroad EFI'd KTMs only need 5 minutes, no longer 10.

Shut bike off with kill switch, turn key off.
Turn key on, turn kill switch to "run" & start bike (with closed, untouched throttle)-. allow to idle untouched for 10 minutes. Shut off bike w/kill switch, turn off key- and you're done.
