Mooching around Kempton...

It snowed today!
Not heavy in your face drifting winter wonderland snow, but it snowed, today, in October! what the hell is that all about? and it was cold, with an icy chill on the North wind.

So today was another Kempton Jumble, did I say it was cold, well it was. Now I had a plan today, I needed to mooch about in search of unobtanium Norton parts, for my Norton project, I also needed to drop off the rear wheel to be built, for the same project, and also keep an eye open for anything else that could be of use.

So I started by dropping the wheel off, and then grabbing a couple of pictures, but it was cold, and my hands were cold, so the pictures waited while I drank some nice hot coffee.

A little while after this, I was talking to a friend, by a table of old junk, when I spied unobtanium, I had only come across the very hard to find side stand for the garden gate Nortons! and it was mine for 20.00, fanfreakingtastic, I never thought I would find a genuine stand.

A little mooching later, and in a box of old junk on another table, I came across a seized oil pump, so I took a chance at 4.00, a little oil and a spanner later, and it turns and pumps just fine, another little bargain.

I was happy with what I had found, and so went into general looking about for anything useful mode, when I spotted a wheel truing/building stand, which was 40.00, so I bought that, and was also given a tyre bead breaker, thrown in as part of the same deal.

Then I was told about an BMW R80ST that was for sale, so I went to have a look at that, and did the deal, right there including delivery home, more later on this though.

So then I grabbed a few more bike shots..

So where was i, still mooching around with the camera...

Nothing a little tank sealer won't cure...

And of course finaly my new R80ST, as delivered this afternoon... it needs a tune up, and carb balance, as it runs a little flat and lumpy right now, I think the valve clearences need doing too.

All taxed and tested, and only 46k on the clock

Did I mention it was cold?

Nice pics, Kev. Well done for wrapping up warm! Not feeling the love for the red framed Norton, though. The ST seems a cracking buy; I had one many moons ago when I worked in the BMW garage and they are cracking little things. I always got the impression they were under-geared, but I was probably smitten by the larger brothers especially a CS in black,,

Glad you had a good afternoon out - I cut my lawn.

Congratulations on a successful day at the jumble!

that is an Abassador, not sure on the price, but I doubt it was more than 250
