Congratulations! Nice looking bike and it should be a lot of fun. Did you keep the Sporty, or trade it off?

So far I like everything about it.
![]() Surprisingly it feels much more agile than my xl1200r. This gal positively dips into turns. No more a hassle to paddle around a parking lot neither. The suspension was neither good enough, nor poor enough to attract my attention. Therefore it was perfect. The 103" is robust. Will be happy leaving it stock for a bit. Ergos are pretty well off for my 5'8" height and 30" inseam. I grew pretty comfortable with the forward floorboards, I didn't like them the first test ride I went on. But after a bit I found where my foot wanted to rest, and all was good. Trans a bit stiff, but shit only had a few miles on it. I'll be damned if I could find neutral in a hurry. and those handlebars look rather silly. Comfy, but silly. Seat is just plain comfy. Hard bags = awesome. Windshield = I'm sort of excited to put it in the closet and take it out occasionally. I'm having them (Ronnies Harley in Pittsfield MA) hold it for me until spring. I've already got a bike in the mudroom and one under the porch. Besides this one would'nt've fit in the mudroom and it's too fancy to put under the porch. So there it will be waiting faithfully until I can't take it anymore and go get it. Quote:
$5500 off, in trade + discounts. I'm satisfied.

I'll be interested in hearing how you like this bike; you and I are the same height & weight, and I"ve looked at the Switchback and thought it might be a good middle ground between the XL1200R and a Road King.
Our local dealers are selling this at MSRP or very close to, so I'd say you got a real good deal.

Nice report though. I spent the afternoon doing winter fluid changes etc on my Road Glide (kinda let it slide for a few weeks). Easy bike to work on. Good luck! Cakeeater |

Somewhere along the lines I got RKs stuck in my head. I went to go throw a leg over some and realized just how freaking mammoth they are. My hips just aint that wide. I felt lost. I had no new bike direction. And then I see this me-sized road king on the floor....

Let me know when ya wanna pump it up. The 103" has a unique issue that makes parts choice important. I'll show ya how to build a stout reliable engine.

What's unique about it?
I'll probably do a stage 1 before I pick it up in the spring. Pretty probably cheap out on the exhaust this time around, a night stick at $250 sounds alright with me. Though I'd love to do a full exhaust, and get rid of the CAT. We'll have to see what my finances are at that point.

To make a long story short it has difficulty breathing with stock heads.

Dealership I work for here in PA has sold a couple of these but I haven't really gotten to talk to any of the owners yet. Finding neutral will get easier once it's broken in and first service is done. Often times the clutch cable and clutch just need a little adjustment following the break in period. Be careful when choosing exhaust and changing a/c. If you change both you'll have to go with some form of a tuner to get your fuel mapping correct.Power Commanders work okay for some folks but we've had our best success with the SE race tuners. More money and must be set up and installled at a dealer but way more tuning varaible to allow for future upgrades. Enjoy and go ride it!
