Tangentially WSB related-- Velocity added Eurosport TV to the lineup

I'm hoping this means that they'll be carrying WSB races live, since it's the Eurosport WSB recordings that I've been watching on Youtube iirc

They're showing British Superbike and Rally races on Saturday.

Velocity is really doing a great job for those interested in non NASCAR motorsports and motorcycles in particular. Yeah, some of the shows have the conflict-drive bullshit that apparently the producers think people want; but between the crap is some interesting content.

Let's hope that
a) they talk to the DMG folks
b) someone doesn't buy them out to make another NASCAR outlet

Eugene Laverty and Chaz Davies are at the top of Ducati's list for riders in 2014. They are promising a revised and improved Panigale, too.

Chaz might. I think they are dreaming about Laverty. Chaz deserves better. Ducati is going to make somebody more comfortable in retirement, though.

Shakey Byrne?

Doubt that too. Shakey's been around a bit, not getting any younger...I think he's pretty happy where he is. Plenty of challenges ( challengers) there. As for Chaz? Dunno, but as you say, he deserves a decent ride. Bloody good at it!

Noccolo Canepa looked good on the Panigale and showed it is not the turd that everyone says it is. As I said earlier with a top rider who is healthy it will be a front-runner.

Pata Honda confirms 2014 SBK line-up

The Pata Honda World Superbike team has announced that it will retain the same rider line-up of Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam heading into the 2014 world championship season.

Rea is currently recuperating from a fractured left femur that he sustained in a crash at Nürburgring in Germany last month, but the 26-year-old from Northern Ireland is making a good recovery and is optimistic about the possibility of riding his Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade again before then end of the year.

Rea began his world championship career with the Ten Kate-run Honda team in the 2008 World Supersport series before moving up to World Superbikes in 2009, since when he has secured 33 podiums from 116 races, including 11 race victories.

He will once again partner fellow British rider Leon Haslam who joined the team for the 2013 season, which has unfortunately been affected by a broken leg he sustained at Assen in the Netherlands in April.

Haslam, 30, has contest 155 World Superbike championship races, a third of which have been on Honda’s CBR machine. The British rider has achieved a total of three race wins and 28 podium finishes since his first SBK race in 2003, and he finished as runner-up in the series in 2010.

What happened? Did Ducati get a bunch of riders to stand in a line and then ask for a volunteer.....everybody except Pirro took a step backwards

Now if they could only get a new bike from Honda.

I know you are a smart guy and follow races. Did you watch any of the practices, qualifying or races?
He was 4th fastest in one session. Set the fourth fastest time in superpole. In race two he was in second (or third) when he crashed got up and finished 15th.
Was it a weekend to be proud of? No, but he showed the Ducati can be fast.
