Yep. Finally rode down and even hung out at The Compound for a while before going home to kill yellow jackets.

Looking for routes to Nags Head, NC

I am headed up to Nags Head. Any suggestions? Blue Ridge? Any cool forest service roads?

I traded my DR650 for a Vstrom 650 - so nothing too gnarly

Here is a riddle for you guys... when does green mean no go?

Here's a small clue... GSA performance when you fuel 8.8 gallons of diesel is sub optimal.

Another interesting bit of trivia for you... the standard BMW toolkit does not contain a 13mm. It is generally not needed though... unless you need to remove the gas tank for some bizarre reason in the middle of no where.

I known... it all sounds like useless info no rational person would ever actually need to know..

The family and I just got back from Emerald Isle on Saturday night. We used highway 64 from Mocksville to Raleigh to break up the soul sucking slab of I-40. It took us ten hours to cover 587 miles. How many days do you have to get there and do you have a Madstad screen on the Wee?

The local chapter of Indoor Adventure Riders are riding Prentice Cooper this afternoon. Meet at the bottom of Haley Branch Rd and Hwy 27 (in Powell's Crossroads) at 3:15PM. We'll ride 'til dark. Suds to follow at Pickle Barrel.

And, diesel in a GSA? Seriously? Seems like a true RTW bike would be multi-fuel.....

Two More Nitefalls!

Only two more Friday nights of good music, good beer, good company (for the most part), good food, and did I mention good beer? Uh Oh, what is this? Holy crap, Batman. It looks like Mr. Boojum left a bike in my garage. And look, I think he left the key in it. Looks like the Trout will be riding to Nitefall tonight!....

See me there,
Troutrider

I need a mechanical mentor for a 2011 KLR650.

I've been chasing an electrical demon on my KLR for most of the summer now, and it's getting really annoying.

I also want/need to upgrade my doohickey, new handlebars along with my acerbis handguards. I think I can probably manage the handlebars, but doohickey is a little out of my mechanical comfort range. I am willing and able to learn though.

Maybe if someone would host a tech day soon....?

Talking Night Ride Series

Nightfall Is over so me and Paul started the Night Ride Series! Go to the woods on Friday night instead of Market St. It is way more fun and the Beer is cheaper!

If the weather is good we will be going again Friday evening. Big bikes are welcome but unless you are Tim I wouldn't advise it!
