Dual sport ride to Suches tomorrow. Leaving from the usual meet up spot (BP gas station at the corner of Ooltewah Ringgold rd & East Brainerd rd) at 9am. This will be an all day ride.

I just got home from Knoxville and Pigeon Forge. We did all sorts of crazy stuff up there, including buying a bike. I'll make it out and about soon.

Nice weather! Everyone's out! Woo Hoo!! Nice pics Vaaprider

Hope Ms Twisty is feeling better

Today's mud trip;

First stop of the day riding in the Cumberlands;

Atop a long uphill; waiting on Hooligan. He uhhh, was having issues in the same spot I was ;

He eventually made it!;

Then we got separated somehow and for hours and hours I looked and searched. I went back to the spot we last saw each other and this is what happened, he was vaporized! ;

No worries, I grabbed the helmet and came back with a truck for the WR

Couple more pics of the day;

Us searching every draw in the area;

Concrete block cisterns? ;

After finding a packed out Mamicita, we headed to Blue Plate;

The mountains of north GA were chock full of bikes yesterday. From what I could see, ADV bikes are getting more popular.

Here's TH crossing Helton Creek. This was the shallowest crossing of the day and the only place I stopped to take pics.

Hey Monte nice pics!
Did y'all go on that dirt road from last St Patricks Day? The one close to Suches? Where that kid on the dirt bike rode with us for a bit? You remember the name of it?

Unfortunately, we didn't ride Flatlands due to the routing snafu with that lying POS Garmin constantly rerouting me (recalculating - turn left on this private land and get shot - recalculating) and costing us too much time. The rear end still has a street tire, so maybe missing that road was a blessing in disguise.

Riding Saturday 3/8

Riding northern Cohuttas on Saturday March 8

8:30am is the meetup time at the:
Kangaroo BP station on corner of E. Brainerd Rd and Ooltewah-Ringgold Rd.

Ride backroads to Cisco, GA and enter the Cohuttas near the old stone church. Heading clockwise toward the Ocoee, then turning around near one of the camping areas along the river.

This is a bigbike friendly ride. Its all FS two track. Couple of us are on 650's. But, I don't have much skin on my tires and plan to keep a leisure pace.

Start time is early so that I can be back at a reasonable hour on Saturday...

I got my full TN license today. The endorsement didn't get transfered over last year when I moved back, so I had to take the computer test and ride for the licensing folks. I showed up thinking I'd be riding around cones and in circles, but it was much quicker than that. Now I can legally venture more than 20 miles from my home and use highways.

Anybody interested in doing a dual sport ride tomorrow? I'd really like to get out on the KTM and hit some dirt before returning for a St Patty's party. The FS is supposed to open the gates in the Cohuttas. Anyone?
