AMRA Wickenburg Az. Enduro Feb 2/3 2013
My son is racing the West Chec Enduro Series in 2013 . 2nd round is in Wickenburg Az. area. Wanted to see if any of the AZ guys familiar with the event could tell me about camping or Motel options.
We would like to camp to save cash, so would need to know about weather conditions in early February for tent camping as long as a storm doesn't blow in. Plan B would be a motel in Wickenburg but need to find out how far that would be from the Enduro location. All help appreciated. Glenn

Lake Pleasant is super nice area to camp by the lake. Not too far from Wickenburg.

The event info says Wickenburg but I don't know where the staging/camp is. I want to camp at the event location. Maybe an AMRA racer can fill me in?

In Wickenburg there is a Rodeo Grounds not far up from the Mcdonalds. Across the street is a dry camping area that is really good. It has a very minimal charge, Like $5 I think. That is where I camp when in that area. If you are looking for showers etc. There are a few campgrounds in the area with all of that.

There is plenty of room for dry camping at the event site. As I understand it the event will be staged at the Mile Marker 4 area of Highway 74, which is only 4 miles from the Hwy 74 and Hwy 60 intersection. There have been events staged at that location for years, good road for RV's and a lot of flat area. Wickenburg is about 20-30 minutes away. I'm sure the event flyer will be popping up soon and have all the info and directions.

I picked up a tent heater and got to use it last weekend, pretty toasty.
