Anasazi ruin near Left Hand Collet Canyon Grand Staircase Escalante, Utah

One of the best travel guides for Utah is Edward Abbey's "Desert Solitaire". It's the spirit of that country. He names a lot of good places and only a few folks get to many of them.

Along the Croatian Coast near Zadar (badly scanned pic )

Somewhere past Banja Luka in Bosnia (badly scanned pic ), when I saw those tunnels (no concrete coating, no lights, no nothing, just a black hole and many of them), I had to think of Roadrunner and Coyote: Those painted tunnel entries on the blank rock.....WHAMM! kinda odd feeling....

Looking back to the Eastern approach of the Sustenpass in Switzerland

One of my favorite roadscapes... Theodore Roosevelt NP :

And as a bonus, not the most adventurous place in the thread (nor the most adventurous bike to tackle it on... actually, wait, it was mighty adventurous hustling an 85,000 mile old "New Magna" through the PCH), but anyway... this pic always makes me smile... or cry... one of those.
