No. I feel like a new thread should have been started. This would also have allowed someone to do a search easier if the thread topic said something to do with rocker arm....

So your beef is with the OP for threadjacking his own thread? Seems legit.

And now this thread isn't about adventures or rocker arms, it's about forum protocol. Oh, dearie me, the confusion of it all!

The entertainment value of the postings on many of these threads far outweighs the technical merits,,,and they are large!

Hi everyone - great to see this thread being back up and running! Thanks for the resurrection and the promotion of the book!

Glad its providing some entertainment

Hope that you enjoy the book if you buy it. I'm massively proud of Isabel for writing it - I struggle with even writing an e mail!

So.. as an update, we finished the trip - originally we'd been planning on shipping the bike to Oz and riding back from there but funds didn't permit and I proposed in Ushuaia so we decided to come back home and save for a wedding

The bike is still being used on a daily basis and is still running like a dream... the daily commute up the A46 doesn't quite match the Americas, but at least I am still getting to ride:

Rob Farmer - I just noticed you are in Loughborough... I commute from Grantham to Leicester everyday so go straight past L'boro. If you see me on the road give me a toot and a wave!

Its nice to be able to work on the bike properly in a garage:

Rather than at the side of a road:

Settling back into "normal" life has been a bit of a shocker... but I guess we couldn't live the dream forever.

I'm in the process of fixing up a TZR 250 race bike so have a project to take my mind off the mundanity of everyday life.

Once the wedding is done, we will start saving again - who knows what next. I still fancy going to Australia and have it in my head that fitting a side car is the way forward for serious overlanding on an old girl like this RS.....will definitely be changing the snowflakes for spokes before we do that though!!

Thanks again for the thread bump...and a final thanks to all those on here who helped us out with advice and assistance when we were on the road.

Great that things are still working for y'all. And remember, a day with a motorcycle will get you through better than a day without a motorcycle (or something like that... )

I bought and read your book. Enjoyed it thoroughly, read it in 3 sittings. Thanks for the entertainment! Congrats to you both for having the balls to drop it all and do something like you did. Sounds like you made some long lasting memories there.

Byron,

Small world?

I'll send you my address in case you ever fancy a cuppa. I've a load of parts that will fit your bike if you need anything.
