A Four Mountain Passes kind of a Day
A fellow Uralista and I rode over four mountain passes today, three of which he'd never ridden before!
Kenosha, Georgia, Boreas and Loveland Passes. Our Ural Rigs did fine, I managed to lose a camera, but hopefully will find it tomorrow when I got back tomorrow. More details and pics here on examiner.com: LINK

Nice Dom, glad the snow wasn't too bad over there. That is a really nice area to ride.

Sounds like a very fun ride
Can you post up how each Ural did in fuel & any issues, etc?
Both my Bro & me are in NM & would have loved to have done a ride along in his GU-11. His GU-11 has been great & really is getting better as the Ks click away. Did anyone have electric heated clothes? thanks for any & all info |

2WD proved nice in preventing slides towards the edge of the road on the way down. I was not wearing heated clothing. It didn't get below freezing for long....I had heated grips, Darrell is a stronger man with no heated grips or windshield. It was 'brisk" up on the summit but we both were dressed for the cold. both rigs did fine at 11,585ft and have done fine as well at higher altitudes, for instance on top of Mt Evans and Pikes Peak which are both above 14,000 ft....though the idle does tend to get a bit rough when up there.....once you get going though, it's all good. going up, its best not to stop and lose momentum....first gear darn near all the way up and revs up. it was definitely more than a 3% grade in spots. hth dom
