I'll be in Ridgecrest for Thanksgiving, maybe Yuma for Christmas if I can stay away from my new Great Granddaughter that long. She is pretty attached to me.
If we have a chance of meeting up let me know and I'll adjust.

Excellent rr. You two always find some great desolate riding and awesome two track.
I love the shacks in the middle of nowhere with who knows who uses them.
Where do you find this stuff?

Hey Steep and Rocky, I'm glad to see you're finally settled in enough to do some riding! Those old mining roads sure look steep. The people who explored that area must have been tough.

Hi Sam:

The DRZ would be fine for the roads we rode. However, in some places the big KTM would be perfect but could be a bit of a handful in other places. Not sure which one I would take if I had your choice of bikes. From the perspective of what I have for bike choices, I would not of wanted the wee strom for most of what we rode the first day except where we had to hit the main road near the last part of the day. In a few places, wished for my 525. The wee strom would of been fine for the second day except for the side trip up to the mine with the steep and rocky road. As it was, the X did fine for the entire trip and for me splits the difference between the wee strom and the 525 pretty well.

Whatever you ride, make sure you have plenty of fuel and give yourself plenty of time as the distances out there are huge and the area very remote. We want to go back and explore some of the stuff we missed on this trip. Get with me some time and I can fill you in on the neat routes we had planned but didn't have time to ride. We don't live that far away anymore.

Thanks for the great ride, just wondering if you or anyone else has any idea of what this would be like in a couple of weeks. (Thanksgiving)
I noticed some remnants of snow on one of those roads?

Nevada in November.

Hey bob,

I operate an LC-4 also and that area would be the bomb for those !

Always wanted to do Nevada when it`s not 120 degrees out.

Are you good on routes and planning ?

Nice!

Looks like a nice ride -- lots of neat side trips and interesting stops. I could even handle camping at Stevens Camp
