It was a fantastic day.
Thanks to Karl for starting the idea, and to Wayne [waynetheone] for leading most of the tracks and back roads. The so called "newbies" handled it all very well. Due to work tying up the next three days [and parts of my evenings as well] I probably won't get pics and a report uploaded until about Thursday]. Great to meet you all, hope we can do another run in the near future [Christmas approaching, so it may be tough to fit in.....but with luck ].Cheers, Ock. [aka Steve] ps. When I get a report done I will post it in the "Ride Reports" section and post a link here.

10 hours away from home and just over 300Km of fantastic riding and great company.
Thanks Karl for organising and the other riders that made it a great day out. Not one dropped or broken down bike all day. ![]() Ride photos here via this link. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...5#post20068605

As you can see from the pic, there were eight of us and a good mix of experience and noobness and guys just out for a less hectic ride. Also a great mix of machined from the little yammy 125, up to the PIG and the super ten.
Many lessons learnt. The nerves had me early on and it took a while to settle down and start to loosen up. The sand was interresting and thankfully brief. I went through it ok and looked back to see the super10 wiggle its way through too in the mirror. I should keep my eyes on the road. Some very good learnung on fine throttle control, rear wheel power slide steering and feeling the front nobbly to bite into the corners. Thank you experienced guys (Wayne, Ian and Ock). Taking newbs out is so much more than just having to wait and corner mark. Its those little bits of advice and the fact that if things did go pear shaped then you would take care of us. I am pretty busy up to xmas now with my 40th and all, but I will be sure to organise one again in the new year. Newbs!, dont be afraid to organise your own... Looking forward to the other pics Ock, there were camera's bloody everwhere!.. K

Not to sound repetitive, but
Thanks once again to Karlxx for organising the trip and getting everyone out and on the road (usually the hardest part of any ride!). Thanks also to Wayne the one for guiding us along some beaut tracks, and for his gentle encouragement to tackle stuff I wouldn't have done on my own ( Wayne: "Yeah, I reckon the Husky will go up that" Stilt "I'm not worried about the Husky's ability, it's the n00b on the top that scares me"), thanks to Ock for the great chat along the way, and most of all, thanks to everyone in the group for making it such a great day out.
Looking forward to the next one. At which I promise to be less hungover and less creepy looking (and thanks for not laughing at my movember disgracefulness).

Hang in there guys, I'm trying to get pics on to photobucket so I can add them to a RR.
Work is getting in the way of my spare time, big day today and unlikely to knock off before 11:00pm tomorrow [Friday off though ]Floating the idea of an overnight camping run to Newnes one weekend soon, let me know if you're interested [same easy pace as the Noob run]. Also Belanglo and Wombeyan Caves areas for either a day ride or a camping run too.

Overnighter sounds good but as I work every second saturday the dates will need to match my days off. Here a pic of my tent the last time I camped up at newnes, just a bit close to the cliff. Great view though !
